OREANDA-NEWS. On April 17, 2007 Aeroflot activated e-ticket in the abroad agency network using the largest world distribution systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo, and Apollo). This allowed the company selling e-tickets in all clearing-and-settlement systems of the IATA in almost 50 countries. Therefore Aeroflot prematurely met the requirement of the IATA on transition to compulsory use of e-tickets in the international distribution markets since January 1, 2008, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

At the moment Aeroflot e-tickets are sold through interline by six foreign partner airline companies (KLM, Aeromexico, Continental, Delta, Korean Air, and Northwest). Aeroflot has already ensured servicing of e-tickets on 28 routes including 5 domestic (Volgograd, Omsk, Anapa, Perm, and Kaliningrad). Till end this year 50 more airports are planned to serve e-tickets. Broad sale of e-tickets will start in Russia in June this year.
