FAS Russia Classified Advertisements of the «Arbat» Entertainment Centre and the «Imperia» Club as Improper and Violating
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 13, 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) classified advertisements of the "Arbat" Entertainment Centre and the "Imperia" Club as improper and violating Part 2 Article 27 of the Federal Law "On Advertising", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS Russia ordered the distributors - "Moskovskaya Gorodskaya Reklama" [Moscow City Advertising] OJSC and "Stolitsa-M" Advertising Firm" CJSC - to stop violating the advertising legislation.
The antimonopoly authority brought administrative charges against "Stolitsa-M" Advertising Firm" which advertised the "Arbat" Entertainment Centre and imposed a fine of 400 minimum monthly wages (40 000 Rubles).
Advertisements of both the club and the entertainment center were displayed on some advertising constructions in Moscow in February 2007.
The name "Arbat" is applied to the "Arbat" casino in the "Arbat" Entertainment Centre, which organizes gambling activities and is in fact a gambling establishment. The "Imperia" Club also carries out gambling and betting activities.
Article 27 of the Federal Law "On Advertising" sets restrictions on advertising of gabling and is also applicable to advertisements of the companies - gambling establishments, including casinos or slot machine halls, which carry out gambling or betting activities, and to advertisements of the places of gambling or betting if they are gambling establishments.
