OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2007. An extended topical meeting of the scientific and technical council of the international association 'Aviation Engine-Building Alliance' will be hosted by the Aviation Bearings Plant (an EBC company) on April 19 in Samara. The headline topic of the meeting is 'Avenues of Development of Bearings for Aviation Engines and Units', reported the press-centre of EBC.
The aviation bearings plant joined the association in 2004 and since that time has been a proactive member. This year the association decided to hold the topical meeting of the scientific and technical council in Samara as the topic of components is a most important one nowadays for the majority of aerospace engine makers everywhere in the world. Invited to the meeting are representatives of such companies as Salut, Klimov, design bureau Progress (Ukraine), Aviadvigatel, Saturn and others from Russia and abroad. Victor Chuiko, President of the association, and Vladimir Dmitriev, Deputy Director-General, will also take part in the meeting.
International association 'Aviation Engine-Building Alliance' is a voluntary alliance of manufacturers and customers of high-tech products. Its foundation dates back to 1991 when it was established on the initiative of 58 companies and organizations. Some hundred firms of different profiles from Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, USA, UK, France, Germany, Canada and Switzerland collaborate under the auspices of AEU. These include first of all R&D, design, serial production, governmental maintenance and private firms which are involved in development, production, maintenance and services of aviation engines and engine units, auxiliary power units, drives for gas pump stations and power installations, aviation engine utilization and production of a plethora of other products such as automobile engines, outboard motors, oversnow vehicles, walk-behind tractors, motor hoes and many other goods.
The association is in cooperates closely with the RF Rosaviakosmos, RF Ministry of Science, Industry and Technologies, RF Ministry of Defence, Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee.
