OREANDA-NEWS. On April 06, 2007 Sochi saw opening ceremony of renovated customer’s hall in the general post office of the city. The event was attended by G. Kotov, Russian Post Deputy Director General, N. Savchenko, Regional Advisor to Russian Post Director General in SFD, A. Shalenkov, OJSC AKB "Sviaz-Bank" senior vice-president, V. Kolodyazhniy, major of the city, administrative authorities of Krasnodar territory and directors of Russian Post regional branches, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

"It’s of key importance for Russian Post to be presented in the central resort city at the due level. Currently, General post office in Sochi is equipped with all necessary advanced facilities", noted G. Kotov at the press-conference. Opening of renovated general post office will be a nice present to new season for citizens and visitors of Sochi. After the first stage of reconstructing the general post office demonstrates unified corporate design. Moreover customers can appreciate new level of services granted by post. Regarding the work of postal employees major of Sochi told that nowadays he sees a considerable leap forward in development of post in Russia.


New building stipulates unified halls system consisting of three halls with monitors displaying queue order. There are 18 universal operation counters connected to high-speed communication channels in it. Customers can also use the services of OJSC AKB "Sviaz-Bank" branch office and get Internet access in six public access outlets. There is a mini-market where customers can buy printing and book production, cards, stationery items, envelopes, stamps, photo goods and souvenirs. Major of Sochi offered to sell items of folk arts in it. The General post office in Sochi was equipped with exclusive furniture for customer zones and up-to-date facilities in unified corporate style of Russian Post. Aiming at creating the most comfortable conditions for the customers and employees all halls were arranged according to high standards. The building of general post office in Sochi was built in 1965 and considered to be one of the sights of the city.
