KAMAZ R&D Center and “Samotlor-NN”, the Enterprise of the Industrial Group in Nizhny Novgorod, Designed the Perspective Model of the Coach “Kama” Based on KAMAZ-4308 Chassis
OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2007. The new coach was examined by Ravil Muratov, the first Deputy Prime-Minister of RT, accompanied by Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. and the top-managers of the auto giant. The first public presentation of the common product of KAMAZ and “Samotlor-NN” will take place in the end of April at the exhibition “KOMTRANS-2007” in Moscow’s “Crocus Expo” exhibiting area, reported the press-centre of KAMAZ Inc.
Andrey Korzhevin, Deputy Director General, Director of the representative office of “KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company” OJSC in Moscow considers that the new coach can be “an exact market target bit”. Transporters only start examining 9meters coaches, land cruisers and suburban buses, whereas KAMAZ and “Samotlor-NN” are ready to offer them.
Alongside with the coach there was also built the suburban variant of “Kama”. There are no air-conditioners and adjustable seats in its passenger compartments, but the coach has more seats and space for standees.
The idea to create the bus on KAMAZ-4308 chassis belongs to the KAMAZ direction. With the popular chassis powered by the Cummins engine, KAMAZ Inc. wanted to use it for the bus construction. And “Samotlor-NN” is very experienced in bus bodies construction and, what’s the most important, - reputation of a reliable partner. In this tandem the new coach was born, which is cheaper than its import analogy with the same application properties.
The plans are to produce new buses with little occupancy on the basis of the special frame chassis.
