OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2007. Russian company Transneft that has a monopoly on  all the pipelines on the Russian territory, in the nearest feature can restart its supplies to the Mazeikiu Nafta – the largest oil exporter  into Latvia.

The oil supplies were stopped in July 2006.  

Transneft explained their decision to shut the pipeline as the matter of oil escape and the necessity to repair the pipeline.
But many experts are sure that the real reason includes in other facts. It is important to mansion that exactly in that time the Russian company and   PKN Orlen were contesting for Mazeikiu Nafta’s shares. And Mazeikiu Nafta turned out to be sold to Poland; the announced cost was $ 2, 3 billions.
