Gazprom Delegation Takes Part in 2nd Siberian Energy Congress
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 11, 2007 the 2nd Siberian Energy Congress held under the chairmanship of Anatoly Kvashnin, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian Federation President to the Siberian Federal District (SFD) has opened in the city of Novosibirsk, reported the press-centre of Gazprom.
Taking part in the Congress is a Gazprom delegation headed by Yaroslav Golko, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Investment & Construction Department.
In his report dedicated to strategy of fuel and energy complex development at a plenary session Y. Golko emphasized that the gas sector development in Eastern Russia is a priority question for the Gazprom business activity.
Now Gazprom has developed and submitted the Program on setting up integrated gas production, transmission and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia Pacific countries for the approval of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The reporter expressed confidence that the fastest Program approval of the Government of the Russian Federation and start-up of its implementation will stimulate regional socioeconomic development as well as gasification.
Special attention was paid to Gazprom’s plans to rapidly develop gas chemical and processing capacities in Eastern Russia. “The program implementation will stimulate additional demand for products of the Siberian machine-building complex, production set-up of high value added products,” Yaroslav Golko underlined.
