OREANDA-NEWS. On April 02, 2007 Stepnogorsk Bearing Plant (JSC SPZ, a European Bearing Corporation company) has purchased a device for testing corrosion-proofing materials. An environmentally safe method of corrosion-proofing of bearings has been implemented at SPZ using a salt mist chamber, reported the press-centre of  EBC. The chamber simulates severe conditions and fast-rate processes to which a bearing can be subjected during its storage and transportation. This is the way how the manufacturer prevents supplying to its customers poor-quality products. Former procedure provided for 2-year long corrosion withstandability testing under the acid fumes condition in the shop. The implemented procedure has helped reduce the testing procedure to several hours.
