The Gazprom Board of Directors Addresses Gazprom Long-term Personnel Management Strategy
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2007 the Board of Directors’ meeting is being held at the Gazprom Headquarters. The Board of Directors has heard a report on the Gazprom long-term personnel management strategy. The Management Committee was entrusted with further improving the human resource management mechanisms in Gazprom and its subsidiaries, reported the press-centre of Gazprom. The Board of Directors Chairman Dmitry Medvedev pointed to the need of developing the staff retraining and secondary special education system within Gazprom Group.

An essential part of the Gazprom strategy for growth and development, the long-term staff management strategy aims to secure maximum returns on investment in the workforce, which is a major resource ensuring the achievement of the Gazprom strategic objective of becoming a global energy industry leader;
The main corporate staff management documents are the Human Resource Management Policy of Gazprom and its Subsidiaries, and related Comprehensive Program covering the implementation of the Policy over 2006 to 2010;
The human resource management system currently applicable within Gazprom enables the Company to timely respond to changes in the competitive environment, labor market and business geography expansions, and take effective actions to improve the workforce recruitment, utilization and development system. The effective functioning of this system predetermines the successful execution of innovative and promising projects as well as the fulfillment of the Company’s commitments as regards the supply of natural gas and other types of fuel and feedstock domestically and internationally.
