S7 Airlines Presents Summer Timetable
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 26, 2007 with the switch to summer time in Russia, S7’s summer timetable has come into force. We’re offering an even greater choice than last summer: 10% more flights, with over 1000 flights a week at the height of the season, reported the press-centre of S7. Our summer timetable features around a dozen new routes, and we now offer scheduled flights to 73 destinations, mostly from S7’s hub airports in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk and Perm. From Moscow we will offer scheduled flights to 52 cities, including new routes to Nadym and Kurgan in Russia, Ashgabat in Turkmenistan, and Semipalatinsk in Kazakhstan. We now offer scheduled flights to Podgorica and Tivat in Montenegro. S7’s own service to Magnitogorsk is being replaced by a service operated by one of S7’s partner airlines, but thanks to a code-share agreement S7 tickets will still be sold for this route. Similar agreements are in operation for other routes, to Yakutsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Khabarovsk.
Our flight network from Novosibirsk includes 33 cities. In addition to the Novosibirsk - Irkutsk - Magadan service that we launched last year, we plan to add a direct flight to Magadan. Our Novosibirsk - Barcelona route is to become a scheduled fortnightly service. In April, S7 will launch a weekly Perm - Novosibirsk - Irkutsk service. We will offer scheduled flights to 11 destinations from Irkutsk, and 7 from Chelyabinsk (including a new service to Almaty). This year, Perm Airport has become S7’s’s fifth hub airport, alongside Moscow Domodedovo, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk. Our summer timetable for flights from Perm includes 10 scheduled flights, to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi and Anapa in Russia, Yerevan in Armenia, and Dushanbe in Tajikistan. We will also operate charter flights from Perm to Bulgaria, Egypt and Turkey.
Apart from the flights from our hub airports, we will also operate seasonal flights from various Siberian cities (Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk) to resorts in the south of Russia (Sochi and Anapa), plus a new Ufa - Sochi service. In addition, we are launching seasonal flights from Omsk to Germany (Hanover and Frankfurt). Our scheduled flights are supplemented by an extensive charter programme of flights to popular resorts in Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Bulgaria and other countries. These charter flights will operate from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm and Omsk. S7 Airlines is Russia’s largest domestic carrier and one of the world’s top 50 domestic airlines. In terms of passenger numbers, S7 is Russia’s second-biggest airline overall. In 2006, S7 made more than 40,000 flights, carrying 4,900,000 passengers and more than 28,000 tonnes of cargo and post. S7’s fleet comprises 62 Airbus A310/A319, Boeing 737-500/400, Il-86 and Tu-154M aircraft.
