OREANDA-NEWS. Mobile TeleSystems OJSC ("MTS" - NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, announces its fourth quarter and full-year 2006 financial and operating results.

The net profit of the company under US GAAP in 2006 increased by 10,6% in comparison with 2005 having made $1,245 billion, the company report goes. The proceeds of the company for the period under review increased by 227,4% up to $6,384 billion.

OIBDA parameter has increased by 27.2% in 2006, having made $3,229 billion. The operational profit of MTS in 2006 has made $2,133 billion, or 30,7% more than parameter of 2005.

As a result of 2006 the consolidated subscriber base of the company increased by 14,7 million people - up to 72,86 million subscribers.
