Amtel-Vredestein To Increase Its Share of Tyres Sold to Original Equipment Manufacturers
OREANDA-NEWS.On March 13, 2007 "Vasily Ignatiev, Sales and Marketing Director of OJSC Amtel-Vredestein, Russia's number one passenger car tyre manufacturer and subsidiary of Amtel-Vredestein N.V., (LSE: AMV) a leading European tyre producer, presented some of his company's achievements in 2006 today at the Adam Smith Conferences' 10th Annual Forum on The Russian Automotive Industry.During his presentation, Ignatiev described his company's strategy and confirmed Amtel-Vredestein's plans to increase its volume of tyres for the original equipment (OE) market as a percentage of sales from 21% in 2006 to 25% in 2007/2008.
Recently the company announced a deal to supply tyres for Renault Logan cars produced in Russia.Ignatiev also disclosed that Amtel-Vredestein's share of passenger car tyre production in Russia increased to 30% in 2006 from 27% in 2005. The company produced approximately 8 million passenger car tyres in Russia in 2006.Amtel-Vredestein N.V. is Europe's leading tyre producer and Russian number one passenger tyre manufacturer.
