OREANDA-NEWS. Sistema Telecom announces that Valery Yashin has been appointed Head of Asset Management.

Mr. Yashin will be in charge of Sistema's strategic assets management, both those already acquired and those up for acquisition.

Sistema Telecom created Asset Management Department in late 2006. Its main objective is to provide efficient management of Svyazinvest's blocking share jointly with Comstar - United Telesystems as far as all necessary procedures and rules of corporate governance are concerned as well as to protect the rights of minority shareholders.
