OREANDA-NEWS. The National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) has finished the year 2006 with the record volume of saved up currency reserves – $2 billion, REGNUM news agency reported.

Growth of currency reserves has made 105 %. In 2006, the exchange rate of Manat has become stronger by more than 5,1 % against US dollar. Strengthening of the rate and growth of reserves of NBA were connected with excess of the offer of currency in the market above demand.

In 2007, preservation of this tendency is predicted.
