OREANDA-NEWS. Gas Industry Commission for Field Development and Subsurface Use reviewed and approved the Shtokman Gas and Condensate Field Project Updates developed by experts from VNIIGAZ due to a considerable increase in the gas reserves and a change in the field geological model.

The participants considered field development options, scrutinized a project viability assessment and brought forward new effective technological solutions approbated in the world offshore field development practice and capable of providing high development efficiency, namely wells with the construction ensuring the packline; underwater upstream compounds; remote control of the development process and upstream facility operation.
