OREANDA-NEWS. Kovdorsky GOK – the sole world's producer of baddeleyite concentrate from natural zirconium ore – produced its one hundred thousandth tonne of the concentrate. The enterprise is a part of EuroChem.

Commercial production of the concentrate started at Kovdorsky GOK in 1975, when the apatite-baddeleyite preparation plant was commissioned there.

Annually the enterprise produces and supplies over 6,000 tonnes of the product.

Kovdorsky GOK products are sold to Japan, Germany, and Spain, where baddeleyite concentrate is used in the manufacturing of abrasive and refractory materials, electronics, fine ceramics, pigments, and colorants.
