OREANDA-NEWS. Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (“MTS” - NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, and company Motorola have announced signing the contract on work on optimization of quality of communication, capacities and performance data of the network in macro-region "Moscow" - the largest regional division of MTS.

This contract will help the company MTS to achieve improvement of quality of voice communication and data transmission, reduction of operational and capital expenses due to introduction of new functionalities, increase in efficiency of use of resources of network and optimization of its architecture and topology.

Within the frameworks of the contract updating of the equipment of base stations MTS in macro-region "Moscow" and introduction of technology EDGE on all operative range of the network of macro-region will be carried out that will allow to render services of data transmission to twice as many subscribers and to increase speed of transfer of voice data.
