FESCO Container Fleet Capacity Increased by 56 %
OREANDA-NEWS. Delivery ceremony of FESCO AYON, the third container vessel from the series of 6, built for FESCO, took place at Jingling Shipyard (China) on October 17th, 2006. The vessel container capacity is 1080 TEU.
FESCO fleet contains of 28 vessels of total container capacity more than 32 thousand TEU with the new vessel. The container capacity of the company fleet increased for 56 % from the beginning of the year 2006. The total deadweight of FESCO fleet is up to 1.1 million of tons.
40% of the fleet is container ships and 60% are vessels of other types.
FESCO fleet development program is continued. The ship building contracts’ portfolio consists of 10 vessels, including 3 container vessels with capacity of 1080 TEU to be built on Jingling Shipyard (China), 3 vessels with capacity 1730 TEU and 4 vessels of 3091 TEU are in process of construction at Stocznia Szczecinska Nova shipyard in Poland.
All shops will enter FESCO fleet till the end of the year 2009 and container capacity will increase up to 50 thousand TEU.
The total volume of investments into fleet development in the year 2006 summed up to 270 million USD and for the next tree years the investments sum will be about 400 million USD.
