OREANDA-NEWS. St. Petersburg Hyundai plant plans to export about 5 thousand vehicles in 2016, which is twice less than in the previous year. The agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed about it by the head of PR department of "Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus" Maria Maltseva, by adding that the decline in the volume of deliveries occur in spite of the significant expansion of export geography.

According to her, in May of this year, the company has resumed the export of cars to Ukraine: as of the end of August it was delivered 200 Hyundai Accent to this country and it will soon begin the shipping of a new crossover Creta. In addition, at the end of August, it was began deliveries of its vehicles to new markets - Georgia and Tunisia. In the Tunisian market it is supplied Hyundai Solaris cars, in Georgia - cars Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Creta. "While the volume of deliveries is small, as they have begun only at the end of August, we believe these markets are promising", - said Maria Maltseva.

Meanwhile, the company observed a significant reduction in orders to the countries of the Customs Union. This year it was delivered to Belarus - about 750 cars (Hyundai and KIA in about equal proportions), to Kazakhstan - 350 Hyundai cars. In the past, Kazakhstan has occupied more than 70% of company exports, Belorussia was the next largest export market. This year, the main export markets for Russian plant Hyundai were Middle East countries, they had about 2,000 shipped cars. Totally, for the first eight months of 2016, the company sent for export 3400 cars.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", for the first eight months of 2016 Hyundai Solaris remains the best-selling model in Russia with 60,104 cars (-19%). Sales of KIA Rio during the same period were 54,264 cars, which is less by 11% compared to the last year. The new compact crossover Hyundai Creta, the production of which was launched in August of this year, for the first month of sales have found 3479 buyers, by becoming the leader among the SUV models.
