Lucapa Diamond Company announced the recovery of an exceptional 172.67 carat diamond
OREANDA-NEWS. Lucapa Diamond Company Limited (ASX: LOM) ("Lucapa" or "the Company") and its partners, Empresa Nacional de Diamantes E.P. ("Endiama") and Rosas & Petalas, are pleased to announce the recovery of an exceptional 172.67 carat diamond from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola.
The 172.67 carat D-colour diamond was among the latest Specials (diamonds weighing > 10.8 carats) recovered from ongoing alluvial mining operations at Lulo and follows the recent recovery of a 104 carat D-colour Type IIa diamond announced 21 September 2016.
Testing on a Yehuda colorimeter has confirmed the top-tier 172.67 carat stone as a Type IIa diamond. It is the fifth +100 carat diamond recovered from mining operations so far in 2016 and the sixth in total.
