OREANDA-NEWS. The US carmaker General Motors is going to transfer its St. Petersburg plant to control the Belarusian automaker "Unison". The company agreement will be signed in October of 2016, writes the magazine "Business Petersburg".
"Negotiations of economic entities are still held. Therefore, it is still too early to talk about the details, the volume of production. Now there are worked out specific details.", - said the first Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, Gennady Svidersky. Production can be started in II-III quarter of 2017. The plant will produce cars of premium brand Cadillac. Demand for luxury brands dipped not so much in the past two years, as demand for the mass brands.
