OREANDA-NEWS. In Ulyanovsk region it was completed the construction the first in Russia Japanese Company Bridgestone plant. The company, which is located in the industrial park "Zavolzhye", will produce radial tires for passenger cars on the innovative technology that meets international quality standards.

As the press-service of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region informed, the total investment in the project was 12.5 billion rubles. The company currently employs 470 people, with the reaching of full capacity the number of jobs will increase to 800. The company expects to produce up to 2 million tires per year, with a subsequent increase up to 4 million tires per year as the recovery of the automotive market.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", an investment agreement on construction of the plant was signed in April of 2013 between the "Bridgestone Corporation", "Mitsubishi Corporation", the Government of the Ulyanovsk region and the Corporation of development of the region.
