OREANDA-NEWS. Ashland Performance Materials, a business unit of Ashland Inc. (NYSE: ASH), is announcing a 100-percent sales control for 1-4 Butanediol (BDO) and NMethyl-2- Pyrrolidone (M-Pyrol) in North America, effective September 15, 2016. This action is being taken to manage inventory of the above products to assure continued forecasted supply to our North American customers.

Ashland expects this sales control to remain in place through the middle of November, when inventories should be sufficiently recovered from an unscheduled August outage and a planned maintenance shutdown at the BDO plant in Lima, Ohio.
