OREANDA-NEWS.  Company Mercedes-Benz in 2019 is preparing to launch a new GLB SUV in the market, which, unlike his graceful “colleague” Mercedes-Benz GLA, will have a more brutal appearance. Correspondent of the German publication Auto Bild has learned some of the details about this new product.

New Mercedes GLB (the development has a code X 247) will be offered to the market in two versions: in a compact, 5-seat, and 7-seat versions (due to elongated by 120 mm wheelbase). Visually the model resembles the one of its predecessors - Gelandewagen. Among the special features – there are original angular wings over the front wheels, body-colored door frames. High roof with a steep slope behind, in spite of the short rear-end, provides ample space for luggage.

Interior of GLB looks revolutionary: extra functions were moved to the steering wheel, on which there are two touch panels; the central front console - a large touch screen, thanks to which the basic control is implemented (control concept is borrowed from the current E-Class).

Although the basis of Mercedes-Benz GLB is MFA platform, the common for models of A-Class, the car will be quite advanced in terms of technology.
