OREANDA-NEWS.  According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", sales of new passenger cars, equipped with diesel engines in Russia for the first half of 2016 were 49.5 thousand units. It is more by 1.8% in comparison with the result of a year ago (48.6 thousand units). Thus, the share of these vehicles has approximately 8% of the total market volume.

The leader of the Russian market among diesel cars in January - June of this year was SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, whose sales reached 4426 units, which is slightly more (+ 0.6%) than a year ago. In the second place there is another model of the Japanese brand - Toyota Land Cruiser, the result of which was 4284 cars (+ 75%). The third place belongs to diesel crossover Renault Duster (2660 units), the sales of which have doubled.

The top-five of leaders is closed by BMW X5 (2481 units; + 20%) and Audi Q7 (2207 units; + 175%).
