OREANDA-NEWS. St. Petersburg plant Toyota in the I half of 2016 has produced 16279 Toyota Camry cars – less by 8.8% than a year before. The agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed in the press service of the company about it and it was noted that at present the plant is in normal operation: 5 days a week in one shift. Reduced operation and stopping of production is not planned.

Recall, the modernized production lines, which were launched at the end of last year allowed the company in May 2016 to double the speed of the conveyor. In this case the plant went to work in one shift, the best use of capacity production lines. To solve the problem of production capacity increasing at the plant it will be created about 800 new jobs.

All Toyota Camry cars, which are sold at a dealer network in Russia, are produced locally. Sales of Toyota Camry in the Russian market in January-June of 2016 were 13178 vehicles, which is less by 14% than a year ago.
