FHI to Exhibit at Farnborough Airshow
Outline of Main Exhibits
Two conceptual 1/10 scale models of the latest developments of the UH-X / 412EPI helicopter
On display will be two conceptual models showing the next-generation utility helicopter (UH-X) that FHI is currently developing for the Japan Ministry of Defense in a joint international project with the US Company Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. and the advanced variant of the 412EPI helicopter, which provides the platform for the UH-X. Through improvements such as enhanced run-dry capability, transmission output, and airframe durability, FHI aims to further hone the reputation for safety and reliability established by the existing UH-1 series and develop aircraft that can be marketed for use in various settings around the world.
1/10 scale skeleton model of the Boeing 787 center wing box
A skeleton model of the Boeing 787 center wing box designed and manufactured by FHI using carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) will be on display. Responsibility for developing complex center wing box interfaces, which carry load from both wings and fuselage, for the Boeing 777, 787, and 777X is providing FHI with a pool of specialized knowledge and expertise on center wing boxes that will drive further growth for the company.
