OREANDA-NEWS. According to Rosstat, for five months of 2016 the Russian assembly lines produced 434,000 cars – less by 20.4% than in the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, it was produced 89 thousand cars in May, which is more by 4.1% than a year ago.

It is worth noting that in the last month, some Russian car plants stopped their assembly lines for the May holidays (AVTOVAZ, Izhevsk of LADA, "PSMA Rus", Russian companies Toyota and Renault).

With regard to the assembly of foreign cars, "Autotor" launched three new models of Hyundai: Genesis, Santa Fe Premium and updated Elantra. Moreover, after the May holidays, AvtoVAZ resumed the production of the Datsun car, which was suspended in mid-March because of the problems with components. The conveyor of Vsevolozhsk plant Ford Sollers produced the 60,000th Ford Mondeo sedan since the beginning of the production of model in Russia in March of 2009.

Production of trucks in January - May was 46.1 thousand units, which is more by 0.5% than a year ago. Last month, the Russian assembly lines produced 8.2 thousand trucks – it is less by 25.2% than a year before.

Bus production in Russia fell by 4.2% for the five months of 2016 up to 12.3 thousand units. At the same time in May bus plants produced about 3 thousand vehicles – less by 5.8% than a year before.
