OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Volkswagen dealers in May sold 5567 cars, which is more by 0.5% than a year ago. In the first five months of 2016 sales of the brand fell by 8.1% to 27,406 cars. As a result, Volkswagen's market share in the last month was 5.5% against 4.7% of a year before. During January - May of 2016 it increased by 0.4 percentage points and it reached 5.4%, according to Volkswagen's press service.

Best-selling brand in Russia remains a model Polo - sales of this model were 3,540 vehicles in May (+ 1%). Sedan Volkswagen Passat continues to improve its position in the segment since the moment of launch of the new model to the market in September of the last year. In May, customers received 289 vehicles, and since the beginning of this year - 1090 units, which is comparable with the total annual sales of the model in 2015. It is also worth noting the result of Volkswagen Touareg, which in May found 365 buyers.
