OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" in the year of its 10th anniversary has decided to analyze the results of the Russian automotive market over the last ten years. In the next few days we will present the most interesting facts about what has changed in the market and in the automotive industry during this time.

If we look at the period from 2006 to 2015, the share of the production of foreign cars in Russia increased more than three times - from 23.5% to 76.7%. Of course, it grew also before 2006, but the most active, this process was in the second half of the 2000s and before the crisis, which began in 2014. It was in that year the share of foreign cars in the Russian automobile industry came to its maximum rate - 80%. In other words, only one in five passenger cars that were produced in the country was domestic one, while the other four – foreign ones.
