OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian plant Hyundai started test production of the new compact crossover Creta in March, and the mass production of the car will start at the beginning of August of 2016. By the end of the year the company plans to produce about 20 thousand cars of the new model. At the same time, due to the full capacity of the enterprise, the plant will suspend the production of Hyundai Solaris hatchback. New cars will be produced on one assembly line of the plant, together with the sedan Hyundai Solaris, according to "Hyundai Motor CIS" press service.

Meanwhile, within the preparation for the production start of Creta Russian plant Hyundai invested $ 100 million in large-scale modernization of production lines of company. Work to optimize the production capacity started in January of 2016 and it is now completed.

Hyundai Creta – is the second model of the brand, which will be produced at the Russian plant of brand in St. Petersburg. For the Russian market car will be available with two powertrains: 1.6- and 2.0-liter petrol engine combined with a 6-speed gearbox. Creta will be available both with front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

As noted, the new security technology makes Creta one of the best equipped cars in its segment. Novelty can be equipped with 6 airbags - 2 frontal and 2 side ones for the driver and passengers, as well as curtain airbags on each side. In all standard equipment it will included the stability system on the road (ESC) and a tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS). In addition, the Creta is equipped with system ERA-GLONASS.
