OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2016. The appointment of new leadership of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia, who will get a decent wage, will allow to overcome corruption in the company, to improve the quality of transportation services and will contribute to its modernization. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during An Hour of Questions to the Government at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday, June 3.

"Ukrzaliznytsia has for decades been the gravy train for those who did well out of the Ukrainian Railway. Profits worth billions, not just hundred thousands, but billions have been lost there for decades. Only an ambitious plan of the new leader contain that we will save over the first year of his management, not less, just imagine, than UAH 7 billion. This is my answer to pensioners, doctors and teachers. None's allowed to steal from state-owned enterprises", said Volodymyr Groysman, commenting on a question of an MP on wage of the new head of the Ukrzaliznytsia.

"And I want to urge you to monitor developments in the Ukrainian Railway, thereby you will see that having paid a few hundred thousand hryvnias we will economize billions, which were used to be distributed among wheeler-dealers", he said.

"Ukrzaliznytsia should provide quality conveyance, comfortable and decent for Ukrainian citizens, and to earn finance for modernization of the rolling stock, railways, for improving safety. Soviet Railways should sink into oblivion. Our railroad should become a modern, European company. It is possible", stressed the Head of Government.
