LRAD(R) Corporation Receives $714,000 LRAD 1000X Follow-On Southeast Asian Navy Order
OREANDA-NEWS. LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), the world's leading provider of acoustic hailing devices and advanced mass notification systems, today announced a $714,000 LRAD 1000X systems and accessories follow-on order for a Southeast Asian Navy. This is the latest in a series of orders from defense and maritime security forces equipping their fleets in this region with Long Range Acoustic Devices®.
"This order reflects LRAD's increasing inclusion in Asian Pacific and other naval forces around the globe," remarked Tom Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer of LRAD Corporation. "LRAD systems enhance maritime security protocols, increase vessel safety and ensure clear communications. LRAD's unmatched performance in both broadcast range and intelligibility provides critical support for naval missions."
Using focused acoustic output to clearly communicate to ships and boats not responding to radio calls, the LRAD 1000X changes threat behavior, enlarges vessel standoff zones and diffuses potentially dangerous misunderstandings. The advanced technology and extended frequency range of the LRAD 1000X ensure communications are heard and understood over wind, engine and background noise. By broadcasting attention-commanding deterrent tones and authoritative voice commands up to 3,000 meters, the LRAD 1000X provides maritime security personnel more time and distance to determine intent, assess situations and respond appropriately.
Using advanced technology and superior voice intelligibility, LRAD Corporation's proprietary Long Range Acoustic Devices® and revolutionary ONE VOICE® mass notification systems safely hail and warn, inform and direct, prevent misunderstandings, determine intent, establish large safety zones, resolve uncertain situations, and save lives. LRAD systems are in service in more than 70 countries around the world in diverse applications including mass notification and public address, fixed and mobile defense deployments, homeland, border, critical infrastructure, maritime, oil & gas, and port security, public safety, law enforcement and emergency responder communications, asset protection, and wildlife control and preservation.
