According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-SPb", in January-April of 2016 the St. Petersburg companies Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota have produced 79,800 cars, which is less by 21% than in the same period of the last year. In April, the city car plants produced 23,900 cars - it is less by 18% than in April of 2015. It is worth noting that in April in St. Petersburg it was produced the every fourth car, produced in Russia.

Since the second quarter GM plant performance does not affect almost the dynamics of the production. Last year’s April was the first month when GM did not conduct the industrial production of cars, the company carried out only SKD of some models during the whole second quarter of year. At the same time it was shown the best production volume of vehicles in a single month in April in 2015.

Share of St. Petersburg car industry with respect to the all-Russian production volume of cars continues to grow. According to the results of January-April it was 23.1% (in I quarter - 22,4%).

The Top-25 of best-selling cars in Russia includes five models of the St. Petersburg plants’ production - Hyundai Solaris (remains the leader of the Russian car market) and KIA Rio, Toyota Camry, Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail.

In April, the car plants of St. Petersburg produced seven car models - Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Solaris and KIA Rio.
