OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2016. Congress is set to pass the first new regulations on toxic chemicals in 40 years.

The law means that some 64,000 chemicals, many of them ingredients in household products, will be tested for the first time.

The new federal regulations could also override stronger state laws, which has led some environmental groups to oppose the new legislation.
