OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2016. Rockwell Collins has been awarded the 2015 Department of Defense (DoD) PBL of the Year award at the Sub-System level. The AN/ARC-210 PBL team implemented a 10-year PBL solution between Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) and Rockwell Collins that improved battlefield interoperability and mission availability.

The award was recently presented to Rockwell Collins and NAVSUP by the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense Terry Emmert during a ceremony at the DoD Product Support Conference at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Aaron Maue, director, International & Service Solutions for Rockwell Collins accepted the award for Rockwell Collins and Commander Kelly House accepted for NAVSUP.

“Under the ARC-210 PBL, battlefield interoperability and mission set availability has improved from 64 percent to 99.4 percent,” according to a report from the Defense Secretary. “Rockwell Collins applies best commercial practices and takes greater ownership for full life-cycle support of their products.”

In addition to increased availability, Rockwell Collins, working jointly with the NAVSUP, leaned out a projected \\$12 million in cost savings over the duration of the 10-year PBL contract. The current \\$53.2 million, 10-year, Price contract was awarded on August 23, 2006.  The contract supports over 60 aircraft platforms with over 700,000 flight hours per year.

“Receiving this prestigious award validates our commitment to the Performance Based Logistics approach and shows these contracts can work well for both parties,” said Thierry Tosi, Vice President and General Manager, Service Solutions for Rockwell Collins. “Rockwell Collins has developed successful PBLs with several branches of the U.S. Armed Services, and we look forward to expanding these capabilities to cover additional current and future platforms to ensure the highest degree of mission availability for the DoD.”
