Andreas Kramvis, vice chairman of Honeywell, recently delivered the opening keynote on Building a High Performance Culture through Software Capability at the annual Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Capability Counts conference in Annapolis, Maryland. Kramvis spoke on the importance of software to Honeywell’s future and its evolution as a cyber-industrial company. Software development has become increasingly important to Honeywell’s product portfolio, including software-enabled products, Software as a Service (SaaS), connected offerings and simulation tools.

The two-day Capability Counts conference connected more than 350 global performance improvement professionals, providing them the opportunity to learn and share their challenges, expertise and success stories as they build capability and improve maturity in their organizations. As a globally-adopted capability improvement framework, CMMI distinguishes building capability as a top priority for companies to improve performance and speed past the competition.  

In December, Honeywell announced that 100% of its global software divisions are compatible with CMMI Maturity Level 5.  For Honeywell, this translates into building and improving enterprise-wide software capability, as well as increasing software quality through reduced errors and defects.
