OREANDA-NEWS. The board of directors of Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) at the meeting today, has nominated Mr. Satoshi Tsunakawa, Representative Executive Officer and Corporate Senior Executive Vice President of Toshiba, for the candidate of Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO of the Company. The new President and CEO will succeed Mr. Masashi Muromachi, and the appointment is subject to approval at the board meeting following the ordinary general meeting of the shareholders in late June this year. The decision was made on the basis that a series of business restructuring initiatives is on track, and that the company should move forward to focus on growth with a new management team.

The board of directors has also nominated Mr. Shigenori Shiga, Representative Executive Officer, Corporate Senior Executive Vice President of Toshiba, for the candidate of Chairman and Representative Executive Officer, which will be newly established as a role mainly to rebuild company trust through outside activities.

Concurrent with the election of the new President and CEO, Mr. Muromachi will be the Executive Advisor of Toshiba Corporation in June.
