Minister of ITC Vasile Botnari had a meeting with the Director of STS Romania to establish a collaboration on the implementation of 112 service
OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2016. The possibilities of deepening bilateral cooperation regarding the implementation of 112 emergency call service in Moldova was the main topic of discussions between the Minister of Information Technology and Communications Vasile Botnari, and Marcel Opris the Director of Special Telecommunications Service of Romania, who visited our country during the event - Moldova ICT Summit 2016.
The officials discussed Romania's experience in the implementation of the single emergency service. It was also presented the entire possibility of collaboration.
Vasile Botnari commended Romania’s opening to this extent. Thus, a meeting with experts will be organized shortly.
According to the Minister of ITC the basic objective is that the 112 service will start operating this year step by step, and within two years the system will be entirely put into operation.
The new emergency service was created by the Government Decision dated February 17, current year in order to ensure an efficient interaction of the emergency services all over the country, on the principle of "single window". After the service becomes operational, the citizens will be able to call the police, fire-brigades, the emergency medical assistance and gas service dialing a single number - 112.
