OREANDA-NEWS. At the Moscow plant of the company “Renault Russia" it was launched serial production of the new all-wheel drive crossover Renault Kaptur.

This event in itself is important, because we are talking about the global launch of a new global production model of Renault's plant in Russia. Perhaps, for the first time in the history of the domestic automotive industry our country has been chosen as the first for the industrial assembly of a global model. And Renault Kaptur was established in the Moscow Engineering Center of the French company, which supervised all the work - from the first prototype to production model.

First Deputy Prime Minister, Arkady Dvorkovich, took part in the ceremony. He was the first, who tested the new crossover and he praised its handling, maneuverability and comfort. "I am confident that this is just one of the steps towards the creation of a full-fledged auto industry in Russia. Hopefully, the demand for cars, produced in our country, will only grow the world, "- he said. In his turn, the General Director of plant “Renault Russia", Andrei Pankov, thanked the Russian Government for the support of the auto industry.

Renault Kaptur must pass the full approbation in Russian - from the standpoint of technology working off, and as the original model demanded by the market. And if the forecasts of marketing specialists are correct, the technology of production will be transferred to other plants of the group in other countries.

We also note that the average level of localization by models Renault in Russia - is the highest among foreign companies: more than 60%.
