OREANDA-NEWS. More than $180,000 was raised at Singapore Exchange's (SGX) Bull Charge Charity Golf event which took place at the Jurong Country Club today. Over 100 golfers from 27 companies participated in the event.

This is the first in a series of 2016 fundraising events for SGX’s annual Bull Charge, now in its 13th year. All proceeds will go to four charities - AWWA Ltd, Autism Association (Singapore), Fei Yue Community Services and Shared Services for Charities.

Mr Loh Boon Chye, CEO of SGX said, “We are heartened by the tremendous support that Bull Charge 2016 has received from Singapore’s financial community despite the current tough economic environment. This is a great start to Bull Charge 2016. On behalf of SGX, I express our deepest appreciation to everyone who has contributed towards raising these funds for the charities. We look forward to greater Bull Charge achievements in 2016.”

The Charity Golf event will be followed by Charity Futsal in September and finally the Charity Run, which will be held at the Float@Marina on 18 November 2016.

Bull Charge, first started in 2004, is SGX’s year-long charity initiative. It is the only corporate charity that rallies the financial community and SGX-listed companies together for a common cause – to support the needs of underprivileged children and families, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. Since its inception, SGX Bull Charge has raised more than $27 million.
