OREANDA-NEWS. As of January 1st, 2016 the parc of motor vehicles in the territory of the Russian Federation was about 49 million units. These data are presented in the reference book "Automotive market of Russia - 2016", prepared by the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT".

Over 80% of this amount falls on passenger cars, which corresponds to approximately 41 million units. Light commercial vehicles have 8% of the total parc, or nearly 4 million vehicles. It is registered a little less of trucks in the country (3.7 million units). About 1% of the Russian parc is occupied by buses (about 400 thousand units).

Analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the oldest in Russia is a parc of trucks, the average age is 19.4 years. This figure among buses is 15.5 years, while among light commercial vehicles - 14 years. But the youngest in the country is the parc of passenger cars - it has an average age of 12.5 years.
