OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2016. Starting April 27 until May 17, 2016 the Days of Information Technology and Communications will be held in Moldova. During this period of time a series of events designed to contribute to the development, cooperation and innovation in ICT will be organized.

The IT Days will debut with "Moldova ICT 2016” Summit, which is now in its 7th edition. The international conference will focus on developing of the ICT sector competitiveness, encouraging innovation and promoting ICT as an engine of  a sustainable economic development. The meeting will be attended by the representatives of the Government and the business environment, investment companies and academic institutions from Moldova and abroad. 

Among  the events agenda the regional conference ITU "Girls in ICT”, an event that aims at encouraging women to choose careers in information technology and communications and the conference for young people entitled "Virtual communication-advantages and disadvantages" are scheduled, as well as other significant events.

Also, within the ICT Days in Moldova the IT young talents' contest "Generation Z" is conducted. The works presented by young people will be assessed by a competent, specialized jury involving representatives of academic area, business and public administration. Subsequently, the best works will be presented to the public in the ICT gala 2016 which will take place on 29 May 2016.

Another event planned within the ICT Days is the official inauguration of the Data Centre "MoldData Cloud" and the launch of Open Doors day at the SE "MoldData" with public access in the data center.

 The ICT Days are annually organized by the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications on the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society, marked on May 17. Through these actions the MITC aims at promoting the use of information technology and communications in various spheres of activity, to follow the latest trends in the field, to attract investments in the sector and increase citizens' interest in the national ICT projects.
