OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2016. OSRAM will switch on an AT&T* global communications network. AT&T will help the global lighting manufacturer transform its business with fast and precise global network services. We’re providing a global VPN to connect OSRAM’s 185 sites across 50 countries.

OSRAM was looking for an agile and single global private network to replace previous regional networks and thus overcome interconnectivity boundaries.  For 15 years, we provided mobility services and regional virtual private network services for OSRAM in the U.S. Under the terms of this new multi-year agreement, we will connect all OSRAM sites to its global managed VPN. It will support OSRAM’s core business functions and over 30,000 employees worldwide.

Our VPN services will simplify processes and speed collaboration.  Developing innovative lighting solutions requires OSRAM engineers to team up around the world.  We’ll connect those in OSRAM’s Munich headquarters with colleagues in places like Shanghai, Paris, Kentucky or Sao Paulo.  It means they can work with global colleagues as if they were local.

We have a separate agreement to provide our highly secure cloud connectivity service, AT&T NetBond®. This service will help OSRAM connect to apps and databases stored in the cloud.  OSRAM gains virtually seamless network integration and the advantages of high performing cloud computing. This will help maintain their security while opening the door to cloud services.

“Instead of using different network providers, OSRAM now has one global and agile network provided by AT&T. It’s a strategic differentiator for OSRAM’s global strategy. It creates benefits already in the transition phase, supports the global carve out of the LEDVANCE lamps unit and gives us the chance to adapt the network immediately to changes.  With AT&T, we have a strong collaborator that will help us to react more flexibly depending on individual business requirements,” said OSRAM Chief Information Officer Dr. Kian Mossanen.

“Rather than stitch together solutions from many different providers, OSRAM has come to a single source. We’re helping OSRAM turn the trade-offs of the past into the combined plans of the future,” said AT&T Region President Global Business Europe, Middle East and Africa John Vladimir Slamecka.

“Customers like OSRAM don’t have to choose open or secure. With AT&T, they have both,” said Slamecka.
