OREANDA-NEWS. From 29 April to 1 May Riva del Garda in northern Italy is hosting the 23rd bikeFESTIVAL. This event on Lake Garda marks the start of the new mountain biking season. The latest trend is toward eMountain biking. More and more people are discovering how much easier battery-powered assistance makes off-road biking. Bosch eBike Systems is supporting this trend with the Performance Line CX, a drive system specially developed for the needs of sporting eBikers. On site Bosch eBike Systems is offering interested bikers a wide range of information and trial facilities: from its own Expo stand via training sessions in riding technique to eMountain bike races.

Perfect conditions for mountain bikers
South Tyrol is a popular tourist destination. Nearly 6.2 million people a year visit the region to relax or to pursue sporting activities. Forty percent of the region's surface area is at altitudes of over 2,000 meters, which is ideal for mountain bikers. The area around Riva on the northern shore of Lake Garda is especially attractive for mountain bike fans with its breathtaking setting. Riva has hosted the bikeFESTIVAL since 1994, and around 40,000 visitors and 180 exhibitors will jointly usher in the mountain bike season there.

eMTB: Cycling fun for mountain bike freaks, downhillers, and free riders
A varied framework program awaits visitors in Riva. It includes an exhibition, trial runs and races in different mountain bike disciplines, one of which is eMountain biking. In the Bosch eMTB Marathon competitors face a distance of 41.5 kilometers and a cumulative elevation gain of around 1,500 meters. The uphill flow sections are a special attraction for eBikers.
For everything to do with eMountain biking, the latest products and trends, the Bosch eBike Systems will be the place to go. There will also be an opportunity to go on guided eBike tours. A special highlight will be the riding technique training sessions with former trials world champion and mountain bike professional Stefan Schlie.

“Cycling with power assistance is like many other new developments. You can only pass judgment if you have tried it out yourself,” says Tamara Winograd, head of marketing and communication at Bosch eBike Systems. “Anyone who wants to know more about the trend toward eMountain biking as a sporting discipline and about the latest eBike technology is cordially invited to visit our stand, to try out the latest models extensively and to experience the unique feeling for themselves.”

Properly equipped for off-road racing
As a pioneer in a young discipline that combines sport, nature and technology, Bosch eBike Systems is promoting mountain biking with battery-powered assistance, and in the Performance Line CX its portfolio includes a drive system that is exactly geared to the needs of mountain bikers. Starting on steep ascents is no problem thanks to a torque of 75 Newton meters. Maximum power assistance of up to 300 percent in Turbo mode takes eMountain bikers forward fast and makes ascents fun. In combination with the new PowerPack 500 battery eMountain bikes can now cover even longer off-road distances.
