Northrop Grumman's Thomas E. Vice Recognized by USC Viterbi School of Engineering with Management Award
OREANDA-NEWS. Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Thomas E. Vice, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, has received the 2016 Daniel J. Epstein Engineering Management Award from the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering.
The Engineering Management Award was founded in 1978 to recognize industry leaders who have made lasting contributions to science and engineering through exemplary professional accomplishments and contributions to the field of engineering management.
Vice, a member of the company's corporate policy council, leads Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, a recognized leader of manned and autonomous systems, space systems, missile systems and advanced technologies. The organization supports a diverse customer base, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Missile Defense Agency, NASA, and NATO's Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency.
Vice earned a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California. He has completed numerous advanced management programs, including the Advanced Program Management course at the Defense Systems Management College; Strategic Marketing of Technology Products and Management of Technology and Innovation programs at the California Institute of Technology; Executive Marketing at UCLA's Anderson School of Management; and the Corporate Strategy Management Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Vice is a member of the board of trustees for the Florida Institute of Technology, the board of advisors for Purdue University's School of Astronautics and Aeronautics, the board of governors for the USO, and the board of councilors for the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.
Past Northrop Grumman recipients of the Daniel J. Epstein Engineering Management Award include former CEOs of Northrop Grumman Ronald Sugar and Kent Kresa, and former CEOs of TRW Ruben Mettler and Simon Ramo.
