OREANDA-NEWS. KAMAZ and "Severstal" have approved the cooperation program until 2018, in which there were worked out the quantitative and qualitative vectors.

As the press service of KAMAZ informed, in the framework of the next Coordination Council the Russian largest companies have agreed the "Program of development of vehicle designs by using new types of metal" for 2016-2018. In accordance with this document, "Severstal" has mastered the production of new types of metal with high strength properties for the manufacture of "KAMAZ" vehicles. This year, Cherepovets metallurgists will deliver for KAMAZ 50 thousand tons of metal.

Also two parties discussed the possibility of improving the quality of high-strength steel grades and improving of packaging for effective protection of the metal from external factors during delivery. Particular attention was paid to the issue of import substitution: there were marked prospects for replacing of products of foreign manufacturers, which deliver for the Russian market spars and amplifiers for trucks.

"In terms of modern reality and import substitution policies it is particularly important the close cooperation between Russian enterprises. KAMAZ together with longtime partner - PJSC "Severstal" – are ready to move in the strategic direction for today to replace the foreign producers and the localization of production in Russia", - said Deputy General Director of Purchasing of KAMAZ, Rustam Shamsutdinov.

"The result of our joint efforts will be the improvement of the technology of manufacture of high-strength steels, which will contribute to the production of high-quality domestic car, which is demanded in the market" –the Director of Sales Division of "Severstal Russian Steel", Eugene Chernyak, commented another item of negotiations.
