Volkswagen Group starts the new Stimmungsbarometer
The employee survey is being conducted from May 30 to June 26. Management and employees are invited to express their opinion on issues such as cooperation and leadership, information, workplace and workflows. The results of the survey will then be discussed with all employees. The aim is to jointly improve cooperation and employees’ workplaces in a continuous process.
Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for Human Resources, underscores: “Especially in the present circumstances, in this phase of major change and challenges which calls for a great effort on our part and gives rise to concerns, we need an honest picture of the mood and a constructive dialog in our teams. The new Stimmungsbarometer has an even more nuanced questionnaire and puts the focus on continuous collective work to improve – I feel that is important.”
Bernd Osterloh, Chairman of the Group Works Council, comments: “The redesigned Stimmungsbarometer is a very good tool for expressing an honest opinion. The subsequent discussion of results and the continuous reviews in the teams are of course particularly important because they make sure that improvements are implemented and are effective.”
All Group brands and some 150 Group companies in 44 countries are taking part in the new Stimmungsbarometer. The objective is to maintain an intensive, constructive and ongoing dialog in the teams and to increase employee satisfaction through participation, improving information, quality and productivity, leadership and cooperation as well as encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit by defining and implementing concrete measures.
Taking part in the Stimmungsbarometer is voluntary and strictly anonymous. Apart from the questionnaire, employees will also be able to contribute concrete themes and ideas via an additional medium, the online pinboard, for the first time. That strengthens the dialog character of the Stimmungsbarometer. Once the survey has been conducted employees, managers and Works Council representatives come together on an ongoing basis to discuss the results and develop possible improvements.
