OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2016. A ten-roller straightening machine and a disk pipe-cutting line have been commissioned at the Pervouralsk Pipe plant (part of ChelPipe Group). The new equipment will allow the company to improve the quality of straightening and cutting of cold-deformed round and shaped pipes, expand product range and increase capacity of the pipe preparation and release department by 25%. The investment into the project exceeded 200 million rubles. The pipe straightening machine is manufactured by German company Reika, the pipe-cutting line is manufactured by Czech company Prestar.

The equipment is suitable for machining pipes with length from 3 to 13 meters, diameter from 22 to 120 mm, wall thickness from 2.5 to 12 mm.

“Continuous improvement is one of the key principles of the White Metallurgy. The new line will help the company increase production of boiler and high-precision pipes for fuel and energy, machine engineering, aviation and automobile industries. I am sure that our clients will appreciate new opportunities we offer”, said Alexander Grubman, ChelPipe Group General Director.

The investment project meets all technical requirements and environmental safety standards. The equipment is tightly sealed to completely eliminate any leaks of process wastes and slag into the environment. Besides, the pipe-cutting equipment uses a "dry" cutting technique without using any lubricating and cooling fluids, which is also beneficial in terms of reducing the amount of such fluids used in operations and, therefore, amount of fluids to be disposed of.

As of year-end 2015, the share of the Chelyabinsk Pipe plant in volumes of cold-deformed pipes shipped to the Russian market reached 53.5%.
