The content will be available in both Dolby Vision and HDR, and so will be compatible with Sony and Samsung TVs, and includes mostly Marvel titles plus a couple of movies and standalone series.
Here's the full a select list of titles, which will expand to over 150 hours of material by the end of the year:
- "A Series of Unfortunate Events"
- "Bloodline"
- "Chef's Table"
- "Hibana"
- "Knights of Sidonia"
- Marvel's "Daredevil"
- Marvel's "Iron Fist"
- Marvel's "Jessica Jones"
- Marvel's "Luke Cage"
- Marvel's "The Defenders"
- "The Do-Over"
- Adam Sandler's "The Ridiculous Six"
Netflix has previously announced that "Marco Polo" season 1 is available now in HDR, with "Daredevil" also slated for 2016.
HDR is a 4K-dependent format with much higher contrast than standard HD content, in addition to a broader color palette, and there are two competing standards -- HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.
Meanwhile competitor Amazon is also giving the Dolby Vision/HDR treatment to some of its top titles for 2016, such as "Bosch," "The Man in the High Castle" and "Transparent." It began streaming HDR content in July last year.
